Hard Work [Single]

about

'Hard Work' was written in my tent during the last shift of my final season of tree planting. It's content is primarily sentences that I remember my foreman using to keep the crew from throwing in the towel on those particularly challenging days but I believe that the message of the song transcends those tiny forests that were left behind and, in light of that, I would like to dedicate this one to everyone who's out there grinding! Enjoy!

lyrics

We miss our homes
We miss our beds
There were other options
We came here instead

To act like machines
Ya, we act like machines

And the money could be better
As with the morale
We had our chance to leave and we missed it
It's too late to turn back now

So we act like animals
Ya, mechanical animals

It's hard work but someone's gotta do it
Ya, It's hard work
It's hard work but someone's gotta do it
Ya, It's hard work for us
But someone's gotta do it

Will enough ever be enough?
Will enough ever be enough?
Will enough ever be enough?
Will enough ever be enough?
No.

It's hard work but someone's gotta do it
Ya, It's hard work
It's hard work but someone's gotta do it
Ya, It's hard work for us
But someone's gotta do it
